Caricatures of my mom and I that was meant to be put onto a Christmas card. I wasn't able to finish it and I didn't exactly like the direction it was going but I liked the caricatures of us so....y'know. :)

Baja Bug is finished!

Here's a little project that I've been working on for about a year now. It's called Baja Bug and can be downloaded at the App Store from iTunes.



The game's far from perfect but it is pretty cool to have it out. I handled a lot of the character designs and animations. I also did some rough place holders through out the game that were touched up by the very talented Joshua Carey.



Bill Pfeil, the programmer, wants to work on some new stuff during the year of 2012. Let's see if we can step things up a notch. :)

Sketchity Sketch Sketch Sketch!

This one I just loosely sketched with a Micron pen and then colored in photoshop.

I have a lot of loose drawings in my sketch book. Thought it was about time to take a few of them and clean them up with ink pens and markers.

I like how most of these turned out.


I kinda like how Obelix looks like he's charging right into the ugly man's face. :)



Those two are a little rougher than I'd like them to be but I thought I'd post 'em anyway.

In case you didn't think I was a big enough nerd...

So there was a fan art contest for the upcoming re-release of Sonic CD. I was working on this bit by bit until I found that I had missed the deadline today! DOH!

Oh well. That just means I can post it here now. Little bland color wise but other than that, I liked how it turned out! :)

Taking a huge dump!

Last couple of days I've been practicing tying down my sketches. I think I've found a method that works!

This one was just randomly doodling. Loosely sketching it red, tying down the form in black, then shading in blue.



These two were from Ben Caldwell's Fantasy Cartooning book. Lots of fun characters in there!



These were caricatures of people walking by while on a few of my lunch breaks. Started playing with ink, here.


This one's pretty cool! I'd like to try to color this one in. Same with the rest of these!

Space Comic colored!

Finally finished it!



Nice to have this done but it took a little longer to finish than I'd like. I should probably start looking into some coloring tutorials or something. Whatever. I still like how this looks. Not without it's flaws, I know, but it's mine. :)

And no, I won't be adding dialogue to it. You can make up your own if you'd like, though! Wouldn't that be fun? Eh? Your own dialogue?

Fashion Sketching!

Working on a new project. Studying fashion models in order to get it right. First few are a little weird, I'll admit, but I like the last two or three.

OSNAP! sketches

OSNAP! is a little organization here in Portland made up of some of the local animators. Every month we do a little 'Drink and Draw' at the Lucky Lab Pub. This was one of the better turn outs so I thought I'd post my sketches from tonight.

Started off doing some caricatures...


...then I just started doodling.

Finally, one of the girls came up with a rather interesting creature. Half giraffe, half octopus. Giraff-a-puss! Or was it Octo-Raffe? Anyway, we all did our own interpretation of it. Here's mine!


Lots of fun, this was! I hope there's an even stronger turn out next time! :)

It's not without it's flaws but it just feels good to get this done. Feel free to post critiques and comments. I'll start cleaning these up on Monday.

UPDATE: Based on some of the critiques, I tweaked page 13 and added a final page. I like how this feels. I think I'm just going to go ahead and start cleaning this up. That'll take a while so feel free to comment anyway. I may not listen to EVERY piece of advice but it may influence how I clean this up.
